In this inspirational painting by Linda Arnold titled "Columbine Forever", twelve small Columbine flowers appear (the State flower of Colorado) each representing one of the 12 students that died in the Columbine High School tragedy. The largest Columbine represents the teacher, David Saunders who was also lost. The raindrops on the flowers represent the teardrops shed by many. The large Columbine on the left side is shaped like a dove, which in Latin, the word "Columbine" means Dove-the bird of peace. The original piece hangs in Columbine High School, Littleton, Colorado. |
